Adrian Van Cooten MCSD is an award-winning freelance AI product designer and UX consultant based in London, UK, with over a decade of experience designing digital experiences that are people-first, playful and inclusive.

Adrian is a Lead Product Designer specialising in AI Product Design, currently AI Product Design Lead at WPP Open, WPP's AI platform connecting marketing professionals, data, tools and AI in one place. He leads UX and product design for WPP Open's chat and canvas interfaces, directing a distributed design team across 9 product pods spanning content generation, compliance and campaign delivery. His work centres on applied AI product design: conversational and agentic interfaces, human-AI collaboration patterns like oversight, transparency and control, and the design systems that make AI-native products scale. He specialises in bridging complex, probabilistic AI systems and structured, deterministic interfaces with intuitive, trustworthy, human-centred design, drawing on 10+ years across fintech, e-commerce and enterprise platforms.

Previously an Interactive Designer at  Apple, he has worked with some of the most innovative brands, startups and creative agencies across Europe, North America and Asia. Past clients include Google, YouTube and Aesop.

A double winner of the Yuno Juno Award for UX Design (2022 and 2015), Adrian brings a fast-paced, iterative approach to AI product design, UX design, interaction design, rapid prototyping and design systems for fintech, e-commerce and enterprise products. He is an accredited member of the Chartered Society of Designers (MCSD) — the world's largest chartered body of professional designers.

Adrian will be available for freelance and contract AI product design, UX design and product strategy roles in London or remotely from June 2026.
